About Wataru Shimosato

Born and raised in Nagano, Japan, and moved to New York in 2009.
He started photography by himself and founded "An Unknown Quantity" which is to showcase New York street styles captured with his authentic sight, in 2010.

After years of being in the street, he has worked for Jimmy Choo, Rick Owens, Ann Demeulemeester, Boris Bidjan Saberi to name a few as a photographer. At the same time, he has modeled for names such as Uniqlo, Diesel, i-D, and New York Magazine. Also, he co-founded the artisan fine jewelry label "KEI SHIGENAGA" in 2016. 

He relocated back to Tokyo, Japan at the end of 2018 after living in New York for 10 years and is focusing on not only one category but also multiple possibilities of fashion and art productions.

1988年生まれ、長野県安曇野市出身。

2009年ニューヨークへ渡米後、翌年2010年にストリートスタイルを発信するブログ"An Unknown Quantity"を主宰し、各国のマガジンやウェブメディアにて紹介、インタビューを受ける。

Jimmy ChooやRick Owens、Ann Demeulemeester、Boris Bidjan Saberiを始めとするハイブランドの撮影を担当する傍ら、UniqloやAsicsなどのグローバルブランドの撮影も手掛ける。

モデルとしても活動し、Dieselをはじめとしたブランドのカタログ、ファッションウィークでのランウェイ、New York Magazineなどの雑誌やミュージックビデオ出演に出演。

2016年、共同でファインジュエリーブランド"KEI SHIGENAGA"を始動し、ディレクターとしてブランドを統括。

2018年末、10年間のニューヨーク生活を経て、東京へと拠点を移す。
